Guntur congress MP Rayapati Sambasiva rao, who announced he would quit politics, today made it clear he would not join the party to be floated by the former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan reddy for the present and would take a decision on it in future.

Speaking to reporters at Shamshabad airport, Sambasiva rao said there was no specialty in his meeting with Ambati Rambabu who met him at his residence in Guntur. “It is purely personal,” he said.

Sambasiva rao said that he served congress party for several years and he needed some rest now.
“I will resign from Lok Sabha and take rest for a while,” he said. The congress MP will stay in Hyderabad for three days and hold discussions with his loyalists and followers.

Sambasiva rao has a long time rivalry with minister Kanna Lakshmi Narayana in Guntur district politics and he was not reportedly happy as the minister got berth in the new cabinet despite his requests to the party leadership not to take him. He was also upset as his own brother and MLC Srinivas was not given a berth in the cabinet.
